Biologics Resources, Inc.(BRI),an affiliate of the publicly traded Korean company, VGX International(KOSPI: 011000), specializes in Plasmid cGMP contract manufacturing.

In 2007, BRI acquired a manufacturing facility site located in the JeonJu Industrial Complex in Korea and started its preparations to build a 3000-liter cGMP grade plasmid R & D and manufacturing facility for plasmid-based biopharmaceuticals products. Once this facility is completed in 2011, BRI will have the largest manufacturing capacity in DNA plasmid production in Asia.

VGXI, Inc. located in the Woodlands, Texas, is another affiliate company of VGX International and has a 500-liter and a 100-liter fermentors to provide DNA plasmid for global biotech companies and research institutions for their clinical needs. The new BRI plasmid manufacturing facility in Korea will be designed and built based on the patent-protected manufacturing technologies and extensive experience that VGXI, Inc. achieved throughout the years.

DNA Plasmid (Naked DNA) is used for developing gene therapeutics, and it is known commonly to cause less side-effects and safer than conventional methods of delivering systems into the human body. These facts have made the DNA plasmid an attractive method in the gene therapy field as a innovative new technology.
